CinePaint Team Past

Everyone who contributes to CinePaint is appreciated. To help me improve as a project leader and for greater transparency, I'm keeping a list of why people leave.

People leave the CinePaint team for various reasons. Many who volunteer never proceed past the question-asking phase. Some will stop responding and simply vanish. Sometimes people never intended to do more than to send a specific patch to address an issue that effected them. For those with the project a long time, there's a tendency to burn out.

CinePaint team members are volunteers. They may leave or return at any time. There's no obligation and no reproach. Debriefing those leaving can be difficult if the person is upset or is experiencing self-reproach. The notes below are merely my impression of the reasons.

  1. Michael Anderson - Wanted to fix C/C++ bugs on Windows platform, but we don't have working build system for Windows. 2008.12.10-2008.12.29
  2. Lars Wirzenius, Finland - Uncomfortable being committed to project, prefers to help when he can. 2008.12.09-2008.12.31
  3. Kai-Uwe Behrmann, Chemnitz, Germany - Left to focus on his own project Oyranos. Wanted CinePaint to have no release schedule, to become a leaderless project like GIMP. 2003.04.25-2008.11.24
